The company started with a 100-hectare shrimp farm named Darsacom, which is still being processed today. Fast forward to 2022, and Grupo Vasco currently counts 500 hectares of shrimp production distributed among shrimp 3 shrimp farms the company owns and operates. which helps to improve the quality of shrimp consumption by offering consumers a choice of shrimp that meets the highest quality standards and is responsibly and sustainably produced. We have maintained high standards that guarantee top-quality shrimp while preserving long-term sustainability through tight quality control. Objectives

The objective of the shrimp farm is to produce an average of 4,000 pounds per hectare of 22-gram Shrimp in a time of 100 calendar days.
The shrimp farm requires 50,000 liters of water per day to keep the water temperature at an optimal level, called the dechlorination rate.
When the shrimp farm operates at its maximum capacity, the amount of water required to keep its temperature at an optimal level is 10 million liters per day.

Vanamei shrimp

Vanamei shrimp is a type of shrimp that are native to the Amazon River. Vanamei shrimp, also known as “sea shrimps”, is a type of shrimp found in the ocean. They have a wide range of distribution but are most commonly found in the Indo-Pacific region. These shrimp are important for both commercial and recreational fisheries. They are also known as rosy pink shrimp. Vanamei shrimp are usually pink in color and they have a long tail that extends from their head. They have a unique, translucent appearance and they can grow up to 10 inches in length. They can usually live for about two years. We have been collecting shrimp in Vaname for over 10 years using purse sensing and trolling methods.

Headless, Shell-On (HLSO)

Vanamei shrimp are a type of shell-on shrimp called (HLSO). They have a hard protective outer shell and a soft body within. Shell-On Shrimp (HLSO) is an industrially important group of aquatic animals that lack a head or anterior body segment. This kind of shrimp is headless. HLSO, or shell-on, shrimp are larvae that have not yet developed their protective sheath around their heads. This is due to a genetic mutation that occurs in the wild. Vanamei shrimp is one of the most commonly exported raw shrimp varieties.
